Developers use .xyz domains to harness the power of blockchain technology and provide transparent solutions. Blockchain startup vlayer.xyz enhances Ethereum smart contracts with verifiable data infrastructure. Blockchain startup KRNL.xyz reimagines smart contract execution with modular and composable infrastructure. Security solutions provider Ackee.xyz strives to enhance blockchain integrity through audits and smart contract development. In this week’s #BlockchainThursday, we’ll introduce you to a project building secure, programmable infrastructure for cross-chain coordination: Ika.xyz.

Introducing Ika: A network for secure cross-chain coordination

Ika.xyz is the online home of Ika, a decentralized network designed to help different blockchains work together in a secure and efficient way. It uses a method called Multi-Party Computation (MPC), which helps multiple parties jointly approve actions—like signing transactions—without any one party having full control. Ika is built by dWallet Labs, a cybersecurity company focused on blockchain technology. The network supports connections between major blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, and is designed to help developers build secure, multi-chain applications. Ika launched on the Sui blockchain’s testnet in October 2024.1

Understanding Ika’s technical approach

Ika leverages a network of independent signers to help blockchains communicate and work together, without relying on a single trusted party. At the heart of the system is the dWallet, a programmable tool that helps smart contracts manage wallets across different blockchains. Developers can use dWallets to set rules for how and when funds move—like requiring approvals, limiting spending, or automating transfers. Ika is designed to handle high volumes of activity with low delays, using Sui’s Mysticeti consensus, a system that processes messages efficiently through a structure known as a directed acyclic graph (DAG). This setup is geared towards supporting applications in areas like decentralized finance, digital asset custody, and cross-chain transactions.

The team behind Ika: Co-founders Omer Sadika and David Lachmish

Ika is co-founded by Omer Sadika and David Lachmish. Both are also co-founders of dWallet Labs, the cybersecurity company responsible for building the Ika network. Omer serves as the CEO of dWallet Labs and previously co-founded companies including legal policy protection platform Orthodox and cybersecurity platform Salt.Security. David also brings experience from Orthodox and leads product efforts at Ika. Together, they launched Ika with the goal of addressing critical limitations in cross-chain infrastructure by building a network rooted in cryptographic coordination, decentralization, and performance.

Ika.xyz: A domain name that reflects Ika’s vision

Ika uses the domain name Ika.xyz to establish a succinct and memorable online identity. .XYZ is often used by projects aiming to represent the next generation of internet technologies. Its neutrality and flexibility make it well-suited for global, blockchain-based initiatives like Ika. Hosting their information at Ika.xyz helps the team present their protocol, research, and documentation under a domain that signals innovation without aligning to a specific region, industry, or legacy model. You can learn more by following Ika on X/Twitter @ikadotxyz and LinkedIn @ikadotxyz, and by visiting Ika.xyz.
