Infinia.xyz – GoDaddy customer – (Uruguay)
Builders across the blockchain and web3 space use .xyz domains to showcase the platforms and protocols they build. Banking platform Dakota.xyz, founded by alumni of Coinbase, Square, and Airbnb, expands access to international business banking using stablecoin technology. Financial platform AvalonFinance.xyz develops Bitcoin-backed lending and stablecoin solutions. Portfolio intelligence platform Otomato.xyz supports real-time alerts for DeFi users. In this week’s #BlockchainThursday, we’ll introduce you to a payments infrastructure company connecting traditional banking rails with digital asset rails across emerging markets: Infinia.xyz.
Infinia.xyz is the online home of Infinia, a Uruguay-based company aiming to link traditional banking rails with digital asset rails. According to the website, Infinia connects traditional clearing rails with digital ledger technology to automate cross-border payouts, collections, and multi-currency virtual accounts. Infinia launched out of Y Combinator’s Winter 2023 batch, where its founders were selected from a pool of more than 20,000 applicants. On July 9, 2026, Infinia announced it had raised $13.5M in Series A funding, in an oversubscribed round led by Bain Capital and Variant Fund, with Y Combinator, Lattice, Varrock, Reverie, Decacorn, G2, and Tekton Ventures. According to the announcement, the new funding is aimed at securing additional regional regulatory licenses and expanding into Infinia’s core operational markets in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.1
The website outlines three core capabilities. Virtual Accounts provides multi-country banking-as-a-service capabilities structured for businesses that have not established physical local entities, issuing and managing multi-currency virtual accounts that hold local balances and segment user wallets across emerging markets through a single API. Disburse is designed for high-throughput disbursements to merchants, partners, suppliers, or end-users in real time, using automated settlement rather than conventional correspondent banking. Collect is intended for payment collection through local methods, including real-time instant bank networks like PIX and SPEI, for businesses that have not established standalone local corporate entities. According to the Series A announcement, Infinia operates with a team of 20 employees and has become an infrastructure partner for global fintechs, marketplaces, and corporate platforms, with an active client roster that includes payments company Stripe and its stablecoin platform Bridge.xyz, payments platform OpenFX, stablecoin payments platform KAST.xyz, and travel booking platform Despegar.
Infinia was co-founded by CEO Ianai Urwicz and CTO Alejandro Rettig. Ianai previously served as CRO at Prisma Campaigns, an AI-powered marketing platform for financial institutions. Prior to that, he was part of the founding team at cross-border payments firm dLocal, where he built the company’s commercial and account management team and developed its partnership strategy, according to the Experience section of Ianai’s LinkedIn profile. Alejandro co-founded technology solutions firm Kinetix and telecommunications solutions company Catalyst Uruguay, both based in Uruguay, and continues in those roles alongside his work at Infinia, as indicated in the Experience section of his LinkedIn profile.
Infinia upgraded from infiniaweb.com to the short and memorable Infinia.xyz. The move gives the company a shorter, more memorable domain. The .xyz domain is widely used by blockchain-based platforms, reinforcing Infinia’s positioning at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets. Backed by its recent Series A round, Infinia is expanding into new regional markets under the Infinia.xyz domain. As adoption grows across the deep tech and startup community, .xyz continues to prove itself as a go-to choice for companies bridging traditional finance and digital assets. You can learn more by following the platform on LinkedIn and Instagram, and visiting Infinia.xyz.
