In this week’s #WebsiteWednesday, we’ll introduce you to a multidisciplinary artist who shares her writing, digital resources, and creative work across two .xyz websites: SmileyBits.xyz and POGOStudios.xyz.
SmileyBits.xyz is the personal website of “Smiley Bits,” a multidisciplinary artist and creative contributor who shares her work pseudonymously online. According to her website, she has supported startups, founders, and teams across a wide range of industries, including technology, crypto, and the arts. With a background spanning physics, medicine, consulting, and design, she describes herself as a systems thinker with a strong interest in blockchain, artificial intelligence, and community-building. In her writing and creative work, she explores the intersections of storytelling, digital infrastructure, and human-centered solutions.
Visitors to SmileyBits.xyz can find a variety of resources and insights across her areas of focus. The Reads page showcases short explainers and reflections on topics such as NFTs, DeFi, decentralized exchanges, market cycles, and the risks of centralization. Coins vs. Tokens, for example, breaks down the key differences between coins and tokens in the context of web3. It explains how coins like BTC or ETH are native to specific blockchains, while tokens are created on top of existing networks via smart contracts. POGOStudios.xyz is the online home of her creative studio, established in 2024. The website offers a gallery of digital artworks organized by platform, including Bitcoin, Solana, DRiP, and Cardano. Visitors can also explore her Print Works, a hybrid collection of digital and physical editions designed to be both collectible and accessible. Each print includes exclusive digital editions on the Solana blockchain and offers long-term perks for collectors, such as discounts on future physical works. The website also includes an archive and online shop, giving visitors a dedicated space to browse and purchase her art.
24 AT, Smiley Bits
One example of Smiley’s showcased artwork is 24 AT, a 2023 piece focused on a dense, colorful field of circular forms. Measuring 8 x 10 inches, the piece is not part of a larger series but was archived in 2024 with integrated verification across decentralized platforms. It includes a tokenized thumbnail minted as a Solana NFT, and a metadata record inscribed on Bitcoin (Inscription #74385893). A SHA-256 hash and IPFS content identifier further authenticate the piece across storage and blockchain networks. The artwork exemplifies Smiley’s interest in cross-platform certification and the preservation of digital and physical creative output.
SmileyBits.xyz and POGOStudios.xyz each include clear pathways to connect with Smiley, from a branded email address to shop options and linked resources across both platforms. The two websites reflect distinct yet connected aspects of her creative practice: one centered on writing, services, and community-building, and the other on art-making for its own sake. According to Smiley, launching a separate website for POGO allowed her to create a space “where creative projects didn’t have to meet a goal, carry a message, or reach an audience”—a studio dedicated to exploration, process, and sharing without expectation.
Smiley describes .xyz as a natural fit for both websites, especially given her work in blockchain, crypto, and decentralized communities. She sees .xyz as “synonymous to saying ‘etc.’”
As she explained, “I have really enjoyed using .xyz, and it just felt like the right fit for my vision. My community, and work is pretty rooted in the web3 space (blockchain, crypto, NFTs …) and has a core underlying focus on decentralization. So .xyz felt the most open to what the future could hold.”
For someone operating at the intersection of art, technology, and online culture, .xyz offered the flexibility to encompass diverse projects, collaborators, and ideas.
