The .xyz community is home to creative artists using .xyz to highlight their work. Actress and multidisciplinary artist Alex Ramirez uses AlexRamirez.xyz to showcase her work in acting, writing, and special effects makeup. Visual artist Dylan Wade uses DylanWade.xyz to showcase his traditional and digital artwork. Multidisciplinary artist Smiley Bits uses SmileyBits.xyz to share her work, writing, and digital art studio. In this week’s #WebsiteWednesday, we’ll introduce you to a multidisciplinary artist who explores the relationship between technology and humanity through experimental pixel art on a .xyz of his own: Yudho.xyz.

Introducing Satrio Yudho: Exploring technology and humanity through art

Yudho.xyz is the personal website of Satrio Yudho (AKA Yudho), a multidisciplinary artist from Indonesia whose work explores the intersection of technology and humanity. According to his website, Yudho began his artistic journey studying Fine Arts at the Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), where he specialized in painting. After nearly a decade experimenting across painting, illustration, mural work, photography, and design, he shifted his focus toward digital media, committing to web3 art and NFTs in late 2021. His current practice centers on pixel art, which he describes as a way to explore the constant dialogue between humans and technology.

Yudho.xyz: A platform for sharing artistic practice and ideas

Yudho uses Yudho.xyz as a central space to share his artistic practice and ideas. The website features his statement, “I draw the story of technology and humanity through pixel art,” encapsulating the theme of his work. He refers to his pixel art approach as “dirty pixels,” a style characterized by merging and shifting pixels in an intentionally raw and chaotic way. This technique creates what he describes as “pointillistic noise,” reflecting the digital noise of modern life, particularly as experienced through social media and constant screen interaction. As highlighted by Indonesian media platform Grafis Masa Kini in July 2025, his inspirations range from mental health experiences and personal struggles to manga, gaming visuals, and internet culture, forming interconnected narratives that he likens to constellations.1

The “Dirty Pixel” series: Developing a new visual language

As described by Sotheby’s and Grafis Masa Kini, Yudho’s “Dirty Pixel” series represents a significant development in his exploration of pixel art. He characterizes this style as a playful yet unconventional approach, creating large-scale pixel works that challenge traditional rules. 2This process involves merging and moving pixels in ways that produce what he describes as “pointillistic noise,” forming layered, textured images that mirror the digital noise of everyday life, particularly the constant flow of information on social media. Yudho views pixel art as a bridge between technology and humanity, with each pixel representing a point of contact in the ongoing relationship between creator and creation. He explains that working at this level of granularity allows him to focus on each mark with greater intention, transforming the act of drawing into a meditative and deeply personal process.3

International exhibitions and a growing global presence

According to Yudho.xyz, his work has been exhibited internationally at both physical and NFT-focused art events. Notable exhibitions include Contemporary Discoveries at Sotheby’s in New York (2025), 4NFT Paris (2025), NFC Lisbon (2024), and Pixelation at Superchief Gallery in New York (2023). His pieces have also been featured at events in Rome, Miami, Montreal, Seoul, Jakarta, and Singapore, among other locations. Yudho reports that his work has been acquired by well-known collectors, underscoring his growing presence in the global digital art community.

Yudho.xyz is a future-facing domain for an artist working at the intersection of art and technology

Using Yudho.xyz gives the artist an online presence that directly aligns with his name and artistic identity. Having a domain name closely tied to his name can improve visibility in search results, making it easier for collectors, curators, and viewers to find his work. .XYZ is widely used by artists and creators exploring the relationship between technology and art, placing Yudho among a global community of innovators using .xyz to share their work. Anyone searching for “yudho” is likely to find Yudho.xyz at the top of search results (as of July 29, 2025). This visibility reinforces his personal brand and makes it simple for collaborators, collectors, and audiences to explore his work.

We had the opportunity to speak with Yudho about his decision to build his website on .xyz. As he told us,

“XYZ sounds unique and a little quirky, which is exactly why I like it. Idk but it sounds more creative than any other domain ending Maybe because a lot of artists, designers and builders are intentionally using it for their creative purposes. Yudho is actually a pretty common name in my country, Indonesia. I didn’t want to use my full name, and I didn’t feel like using an alias either… so I chose .xyz to make it easy to remember and stand out from other Yudhos. Unlike other domain endings, the meaning is also open and abstract, so we get to shape it however we want to fit our own character. It’s become so memorable that people even call me by my full name with the ‘.xyz’ now. It’s really become a part of my identity and my work’s DNA. Now when people ask ‘Which Yudho?’ the answer’s simple: Yudho.xyz.”
