Turtle.xyzGoDaddy customer – (Switzerland)

Blockchain innovators use .xyz domains to launch forward‑thinking projects. Layer-2 blockchain Atlas.xyz aims to deliver low-cost, reliable solutions for verifiable finance. Crypto startup GTE.xyz develops decentralized exchange infrastructure on MegaETH for onchain trading. Decentralized storage platform Walrus.xyz launches with scalable data recovery and verification tools. In this week’s #BlockchainThursday, we’ll introduce you to a distribution protocol designed to coordinate on‑chain liquidity and align incentives across DeFi: Turtle.xyz.

Introducing Turtle.xyz: A protocol for coordinating on‑chain liquidity

Turtle.xyz is the online home of Turtle, a distribution protocol designed to coordinate on‑chain liquidity and monetize web3 activity by tracking wallet interactions across multiple protocols. According to its litepaper, Turtle monitors user wallet activity, including deployed liquidity, earned yield, delegated stakes, swaps routed through partner protocols, and referral codes. This data is used to provide exclusive liquidity deals and optimize incentive distribution across decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystems. On May 12, 2025, Turtle announced that it had raised $6.2M in a seed funding round led by THEIA, with participation from firms such as Susquehanna (SIG), Consensys, and Laser Digital.1

Features supporting liquidity distribution in decentralized finance

The protocol operates as a coordination layer for liquidity in the DeFi ecosystem. According to its documentation, the protocol is designed to align incentives among liquidity providers, developers, distribution partners, and other stakeholders. Its reported features include:

  • Self‑custody participation – Users keep control of their funds while participating in Turtle’s deals and programs.
  • Exclusive liquidity opportunities – Access to unique, reward‑boosting liquidity deals across integrated protocols.
  • Transparent metrics – Data and insights to help capital providers guide their deployment strategies.
  • Framework for sustainable incentives – Tools for partner protocols to design incentive models that aim to balance growth and cost efficiency.

A distributed leadership team with experience across blockchain and finance

According to their LinkedIn profiles, Turtle is led by a distributed team with experience across blockchain, venture capital, and software development. Founder and CEO Esfandiar Lagevardi previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Omniscia, a decentralized security auditing firm, and Director of DeFi at W3BCLOUD, a blockchain infrastructure provider. Co‑founder and Chief Commercial Officer Benedikt Schulz brings experience as a Venture Partner at tokentus investment AG and as Co‑Founder of the financial advisory platform insoro. Co‑founder and Tech Lead Felix Frisk has a background in software development. Co‑founder and Chief Technology Officer Nick Thoma has prior experience as a Software Engineer at ParaFi Capital and created Ovrlook.xyz, a platform for blockchain infrastructure monitoring.

The evolution to Turtle.xyz

Turtle upgraded its domain from Turtle.club to the modern Turtle.xyz, reinforcing its position within the web3 and blockchain ecosystem. .XYZ is widely adopted by blockchain‑focused platforms, and the move to Turtle.xyz aligns the protocol with a global community of innovators building the future of decentralized finance. This domain upgrade reflects Turtle’s aim to provide a versatile, forward‑looking platform for coordinating liquidity and connecting stakeholders across the evolving DeFi landscape.
