Superheat.xyz is the online home of Superheat, a thermal energy platform designed to repurpose heat generated by computing chips into practical heating for homes and businesses. According to the company, its systems treat heat as the primary output rather than a byproduct, using electricity to generate both usable thermal energy and computational work. Superheat is launching with Superheat H1, a water heater that uses the same electricity as a conventional unit while also performing computing tasks. According to Superheat’s whitepaper, the Superheat H1 is designed to make everyday electricity perform double duty. Inside the unit, a high-efficiency ASIC processor generates heat as it operates, similar to a traditional electric heating element. That heat warms the water tank to deliver consistent hot water. At the same time, the processor carries out computational tasks that earn Bitcoin. Superheat states that this process does not require additional energy beyond that of a standard electric water heater. Beyond water heating, the company describes a broader platform intended to support other thermal applications over time, including space heating, hydronic systems, pools, and commercial heating environments. These systems are supported by software tools for monitoring, control, and device management.
Superheat is led by co-founder and CEO Hede (Joseph) Ma, who oversees product and strategy, and co-founder and CTO Andrew Geng. According to LinkedIn, Joseph previously worked in product and project management roles across technology and interactive media. The team operates as a remote-first company, with leadership based in New York. Superheat’s materials emphasize long-term system reliability, safety, and scalability as core design considerations across its hardware and software.
