Ten.xyzSquarespace customer – (United Kingdom)

Forward‑thinking developers use .xyz domains to champion innovation in AI and blockchain. Decentralized platform CampNetwork.xyz builds infrastructure for AI agents and onchain IP registration. Decentralized AI innovator Valory.xyz develops tools for building and owning autonomous agents. AI agent platform Xade.xyz aims to simplify launching and managing social and trading agents. In this week’s #AIMonday, we’ll introduce you to an Ethereum Layer-2 network designed to bring encrypted computation and AI agents to decentralized applications: Ten.xyz.

Ten.xyz: An Ethereum Layer-2 network built for encrypted computation

Ten.xyz is the online home of Ten, an Ethereum Layer-2 rollup developed by blockchain studio Obscuro Labs. A Layer-2 rollup is a secondary blockchain built on top of Ethereum that processes transactions off the main chain while still relying on Ethereum for security. According to its litepaper, the network introduces encrypted smart contracts and confidential rollups that help developers control when and how data is revealed. The platform is designed to expand Ethereum’s capabilities by supporting applications that require privacy, security, and selective data sharing. In March 2024, Ten announced it had raised $9M in funding led by R3, with additional participation from Republic Crypto, KuCoin Labs, Big Brain Capital, DWF Labs, and Magnus Capital.1

AI-native design positions Ten within the blockchain and AI landscape

Ten’s documentation describes the network as having an AI-native architecture. Each user can be assigned a personal AI agent that runs inside a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE). These agents can manage assets, execute transactions, and interact with decentralized applications confidentially. Ten also describes use cases where AI agents act as players in strategy games, manage financial contracts without revealing algorithms, or enable private collaboration between institutions. This focus positions Ten within a growing field of projects that combine AI and blockchain technologies.

Obscuro Labs leadership brings enterprise blockchain experience to Ten

The project comes from Obscuro Labs, whose leadership includes several former members of R3, the company behind the Corda enterprise blockchain platform. According to their LinkedIn profiles, Gavin Thomas is Co-Founder and CEO of Obscuro Labs and previously worked as Head of PMO and Engineering COO at R3. Tudor Malene is the CTO and Co-Founder, contributing to Ten’s technical design. Cais Manai serves as Co-Founder and Head of Product, having previously led product development for digital assets and payments at R3. Obscuro Labs describes itself on LinkedIn as contributing to the Ten network by leveraging Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and confidential rollups to provide encrypted smart contracts and compatibility with Ethereum applications.

The power of a short and memorable domain name like Ten.xyz

The project’s online home at Ten.xyz demonstrates the value of a short and memorable domain name. Using .xyz made it possible for the team to secure an exact match for the project’s name. The domain reflects the growing adoption of .xyz among blockchain and AI-focused projects, where clarity and recall are key to reaching global audiences. You can learn more by following the project on X/Twitter and GitHub, joining the Discord, and by visiting Ten.xyz
