In this week’s #BlockchainThursday, we’ll introduce you to a decentralized exchange designed for tokenized stocks and perpetual futures: Arcus.xyz.
Arcus.xyz is the online home of Arcus, a decentralized exchange developed by the team behind the dYdX.xyz decentralized exchange. The platform was launched in partnership with Robinhood and now runs on Robinhood Chain, Robinhood’s blockchain network. According to the dYdX Foundation, the original dYdX blockchain remains separate, community-owned, and continues to operate independently.1 According to Arcus.xyz, the platform is designed to bring tokenized stocks and perpetual futures together in a self-custodied trading experience. As reported by The Defiant, Arcus launched in July 2026 and supports tokenized equities.2 Arcus has since launched perpetual futures trading in beta, expanding into equities, exchange-traded funds, commodities, and cryptocurrencies.3
As reported by Cointelegraph, Arcus offers around-the-clock trading with no fees on more than 95 tokenized stocks, spanning equities, exchange-traded funds, commodities, and cryptocurrencies.4 The partnership connects Arcus to Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD), the parent company of Robinhood Crypto, which reported 27.7 million funded customers and $377B in total platform assets at the end of May 2026, according to the company’s investor relations disclosures.5 Arcus combines blockchain technology with digital versions of real-world financial assets, so users can trade while keeping control of their own holdings. As reported by crypto news publication Crypto Briefing, Arcus is available in more than 120 countries but excludes users in the US, Canada, and the UK. Spot trading is currently open to eligible users, and the platform is in the process of rolling out perpetual futures trading, with plans to eventually cover equities, cryptocurrencies, commodities, and market indices.6
dYdX founder Antonio Juliano launched dYdX in 2017 after working as a software engineer at cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and ride-hailing company Uber, according to his 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 profile.7 Eddie Zhang, CEO and founder of Arcus, originally joined dYdX through its 2025 acquisition of his software company, Pocket Protector, where his team began building the foundation for Arcus.89
Arcus enters the market backed by a founding team with roots in decentralized finance, including Antonio Juliano’s founding of dYdX, and a partnership with Robinhood Crypto, the cryptocurrency arm of Robinhood, tied to tokenized equities and perpetual futures trading. Arcus.xyz joins dYdX.xyz in the .xyz community, reflecting the extension’s adoption among blockchain and deep tech projects.
