In this week’s #WebsiteWednesday, we’ll introduce you to a creative director who shares his work using a “FirstNameLastName.xyz” domain: EricLane.xyz.
EricLane.xyz is the personal website of Eric Lane, a New York-based creative with skills in the areas of design, visual effects, photography, and architecture. As the Creative Director at Hornet, a multidisciplinary production studio, Eric makes use of his diverse skill set to explore the boundaries of design in both physical (built) and virtual (digital) spaces. Before Hornet, Eric worked as an artist and Visual Effects (VFX) Supervisor for The Mill, a creative agency with studios around the world, including New York, Los Angeles, Seoul, and London. Eric makes use of his experience in CGI, video, photography, animation, and architecture, employing innovative applications to craft captivating and immersive experiences.

Check out Under Armour, featuring a component of sportswear brand Under Armour’s marketing campaign, which centered around star athletes Steph Curry, Misty Copeland, and Tom Brady, and embodied the brand’s “Rule Yourself” theme. In this project, Eric utilized CGI techniques to complement the live-action footage by creating multiple clones of each athlete. Through compositing and crowd simulation, Eric blended the CGI elements with the actual footage, resulting in a visually compelling representation that emphasized the unwavering commitment and dedication required for success in training. Eric also worked on the key visual for the Verizon Investor Day 2022 conference. Collaborating with a fully remote team, Eric took on the directorial responsibilities for the key visualizer project. The objective was to align with the new Verizon brand colors while crafting a compelling narrative that highlighted the disruptive nature of Verizon in the industry. Notably, special attention was given to the transition from a subdued gray color palette to vibrant oranges and reds to complement the product’s environment.
