Grammy-nominated rapper and hip hop legend Snoop Dogg is becoming synonymous with innovation and creativity in the digital world, particularly through his association with the .xyz domain. His previous .xyz projects have showcased his forward-thinking approach and ability to captivate audiences in new and exciting ways. Back in March 2022, Snoop Dogg made his mark on the NFT space by joining Sound.xyz as the 65th artist onboarded. He released a limited edition collection of 1,000 NFTs featuring his acclaimed mix “Death Row Mix: Vol. 1,” which promptly sold out on the same day. Snoop Dogg continued his venture into the world of music NFTs with his latest release titled “XYZ” on February 3, 2023, which achieved a remarkable sell-out within just four days. In addition to his digital endeavors, Snoop Dogg’s entrepreneurial spirit shines through his collaboration with Indonesian coffee entrepreneur Michael Riady, giving rise to INDO.xyz, a premium coffee brand inspired by Snoop Dogg’s trip to Indonesia. This collaboration brings locally-sourced beans from the Gayo region in Aceh on the island of Sumatra to coffee enthusiasts worldwide. In this week’s #BlockchainThursday, we’ll introduce you to Snoop Dogg’s latest .xyz project, an innovative NFT project offering exclusive content throughout his new tour: SnoopPassport.xyz.
SnoopPassport.xyz is the online home of Snoop Dogg Passport, an innovative digital tour NFT. Introduced in June 2023, this unique offering aims to help fans gain exclusive access to Snoop Dogg’s life on his latest tour, kicking off on July 7, 2023. This unique feature is leading the NFT to be touted as the first-ever “evolving digital tour collectible.”1
The Ethereum-based Snoop Dogg Passport NFT is priced at 0.025 ETH (approximately $48 as of June 27, 2013). Once acquired, the NFT is designed to offer ongoing access to behind-the-scenes footage of Snoop Dogg’s tour experiences. The intention is to make every Passport NFT owner feel like an honorary member of Snoop’s entourage. Additionally, Snoop Dogg introduced “Snoop Selects,” an initiative that features a curated collection of works from renowned NFT artists, including Coldie, Terrell Jones, and Alien Queen. These exclusive pieces of art are made available for free to all Passport NFT holders.2
The Passport NFT promises a range of perks to holders, such as access to future Snoop Dogg drops, personalized playlists, the opportunity to purchase exclusive merchandise, and tickets to upcoming events. It aims to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience for dedicated fans and collectors.
It’s worth noting that there is a maximum limit of 100 Passport NFTs per buyer, which offers a sense of collectible prestige. Specific benefits of owning multiple Passport NFTs are unknown, aside from helping passionate fans and collectors further demonstrate their support for Snoop Dogg’s digital tour experience. The SnoopPassport.xyz website also features a Leaderboard page, which showcases rankings, the number of passports held, and the holder’s Ethereum account number. Moreover, connecting your existing Ethereum wallet with your .xyz domain can allow for seamless integration and personalized ownership of the Snoop Dogg Passport NFTs.
This innovative project is a result of the collaboration between Snoop Dogg and TransientLabs.xyz, a Denver-based web3 development studio. TransientLabs.xyz is co-founded by former aerospace engineer, photographer, and NFT creator Ben Strauss and former automotive and aerospace engineer Marco Peyfuss.
