The .xyz community consists of many talented artists using .xyz to highlight their work. Contemporary artist Michael Ho uses MichaelHo.xyz to share his innovative artwork. Independent and commercial artist AdamLatham.xyz showcases his artwork and business projects. Multidisciplinary artist Nina Fraser displays her creative work on NinaFraser.xyz. In this week’s #WebsiteWednesday, we’ll introduce you to an abstract artist who shares his assortment of creative work on his own personal website: JonestheArtist.xyz.

JonestheArtist.xyz

JonestheArtist.xyz is the personal website of Montreal-based abstract artist Octavious Jones. Octavious studied Cinema, Video, and Communications at Dawson College and learned about game design, animation, and other digital mediums. After graduating, he wanted to explore mediums outside of digital art. He enrolled at Montreal’s Concordia University and received his BFA in 2021. Influenced by art methods and movements such as Fluxus and Automatism, Octavious prefers his paintings to have intricate details. He believes in the endless possibilities that exist when a painting provides thousands of micro relationships for viewers to respond to.

Octavious’ Exhibitions, eCommerce shop, and Bio are easy to explore with a simple and informative website design, which can help him to attract collaborators, customers, and clients. The eye-catching homepage of JonestheArtist.xyz contains a digital painting featuring a bold splash of vibrant colors. Clicking on the image takes you directly to Octavious’ Digital Paintings page, one of many options available when you hover over the “Art” option on his menu bar. Octavious shares that his digital paintings can be printed in a variety of sizes on various materials, including plexiglass, brushed white aluminum, canvas, and photo paper. You can also visit the Collaborations page to see the different collaborative projects that Octavious has worked on. Check out the Galerie B page to learn about the curation by artistic marketing agency LNDMRK, where Octavious performed a series of live painting sessions on several surfaces, such as a bench, pillows, and an 8-foot canvas.  On the Magnets page, Octavious highlights his series of magnets frozen in ice. The project developed into a time-based performance where viewers could experience the magnets finding each other through an unpredictable melting process.

Fans of Octavious’ artwork can visit his Commissions page to consider ordering bespoke artwork. As he shares on his website, Octavious offers custom paintings that are color-coordinated to provide an elevated experience of the home. JonestheArtist.xyz features a Contact page, where Octavious shares his social media handles and a means to send him an email. This is a great resource that makes it simple for potential collaborators or fans to reach out and make contact. You can learn more about the benefits of Contact pages in our recent Quarterly Report. In addition, there is a great benefit to a branded email address like [email protected]. Using a custom email address helps to establish professionalism and trust. When you have an email address directly associated with your domain name, customers can use that email address to find your website and feel confident that they’re reaching out to the appropriate person.

We are glad to have Octavious among the thriving .xyz community of artists, creators, and makers. You can learn more about Octavious by following him on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, and by visiting JonestheArtist.xyz.
