Investment firm Dragonfly upgraded to Dragonfly.xyz to signal a global presence and deep technical expertise. Collectible trading card platform Alt upgraded to Alt.xyz as they expanded their alternative assets platform to include options for buying, selling, storing, and borrowing against valuable trading cards. In this week’s #WebsiteWednesday, we’ll introduce you to a newly rebranded financial technology company with a focus on expanded banking services: Capital.xyz.
Capital.xyz is the online home of newly named fintech company Capital (previously Party Round). Before rebranding to the more memorable Capital.xyz, Party Round provided solutions for founders, with a focus on an automated fundraising tool. CEO Jordi Hays explained in the press that their rebrand was tied to the company’s expanding vision to support other startups. Party Round reflected a product for fundraising and bringing together investors, but it limited the vision he and co-founder Sarah Chase had for the company. Capital.xyz’s expanded platform will still help startups raise money, but will offer additional features that allow those startups to use their capital immediately.1 As stated simply on their Twitter bio, Capital.xyz aims to help you “raise, hold, spend, and send funds – all in one place.”
The new platform offers benefits for startups as well as investors. Companies can sign up for an account on Capital.xyz to begin fundraising. Capital.xyz can issue a virtual Visa debit card once the companies begin raising capital so they can start using the funds they just received. Startups can also connect the Capital.xyz app to other fintech services like HR platform Gusto. This can help companies to raise money directly through Capital.xyz and then hold, spend, and send cash through it. Potential investors are able to do some angel investing in early-stage companies within Capital.xyz’s network and track that investment. The platform also added an NFT associated with the funding round. Investors can choose whether they wish to display the NFT on Twitter as evidence of their investment. N.xyz is the online home of nxyz, a new data infrastructure firm developed by former Google advertising executive Sridhar Ramaswamy. The firm’s application programming interface (API) is designed to quickly scan blockchains and their associated applications for data pertaining to NFTs, crypto wallets, and more, and then stream that data to developers in real-time. N.xyz comes from the same team behind the private, ad-free search engine Neeva, which Sridhar co-founded in 2019. N.xyz raised $40 million in a funding round led by crypto-focused venture fund Paradigm.xyz, with additional backing from crypto and web3-focused Coinbase Ventures, VC firm Sequoia Capital and more.1 The capital will be used to hire talent, build out support for emerging use cases, and to expand across different blockchains.

The company is comprised of web3 enthusiasts and distributed systems veterans who built the early infrastructure of Google Search and Ads serving systems. On September 8, 2022 Cooper introduced CoopRecords.xyz in a series of tweets that also explained his vision for the company as a hybrid between a venture fund, a record label, and an incubator that works with founders to create new revenue streams for music.
