The .xyz community is home to many innovative and forward-thinking fashion brands. Nashville-based clothing brand WaysofTravel.xyz features unisex streetwear designed for comfort and confidence. Vaporwave streetwear brand PublicSpace.xyz showcases high-quality, Los Angeles-made clothing with designs by fashion designer and founder Eric Wu. Miami-based clothing brand Unedited.xyz rotates their online collection of limited quantity pieces every three weeks. In this week’s #WebsiteWednesday we’ll introduce you to a clothing brand developed on principles of individuality, sustainability, and community: GoodSport.xyz.
GoodSport.xyz is the online home of Good Sport, a sustainably-focused fashion brand from designer Madison Calderon. The brand originated in Los Angeles in 2019, and later relocated to Brooklyn in 2022. On GoodSport.xyz, Madison shares that she founded the company on the principles of individuality, sustainability, and community. She states “I started this project with the intent of satisfying my inner child while exploring the slow fashion movement.” Madison’s journey of self-expression ignited her passion for screen printing and rejuvenating old clothes. As she explained in a 2021 interview, “I take a lot of pride in all my pieces being sustainable and one of a kind. Each piece truly has a life of its own! Full of color and attitude!”1 In a prior VoyageLA interview, Madison delved into her inspiration: “I guess this all really started with me selling my clothes at punk shows in downtown, and then I started curating vintage and selling my own prints. I was going through a lot of blank tees and I didn’t feel great about putting more excess fabric in the world when I could be repurposing the vintage I curate and make it my own!”2
GoodSport.xyz displays its clothing on the Steez page, categorized under Mini Skirts, Accessories, Bottoms, Tops, and Dresses. Featured items include the ITS ALWAYS COSMIC tank top, which is described as “handmade with love, airbrushed and screen printed.” The ribbed and colorful tank top features the phrase “I’M A GOOD SPORT!” The Steez page also features a collabs category, which highlights pieces like the BEARY NICE MINI SKIRT, a skirt made in collaboration with airbrush artist Brayan Ramales. The item’s description explains that the skirt is made from recycled materials and includes a detachable pocket. The yellow and black miniskirt features an airbrushed bear, star-shaped applique, and the brand’s “I’M A GOOD SPORT!” catch phrase. Visitors can also explore the LOOKS page for a collection of photographs that showcase various Good Sport outfits and styles worn by a variety of models.
