The domain for real estate professionals and small businesses is here! .Rent domains will start rolling out in less than a month, beginning with the trademark holder exclusive Sunrise registration period on August 3.
We’re sure many of the #GenXYZ members are pretty well-versed in the registration periods for new domains at this point. .Rent will be similar – but different – in how it will become available to everyone.
As the new authoritative domain for real estate, we will be running a “Real Estate Landrush,” where professionals and businesses in the industry are specially invited to register .Rent domains before they become available to all.

#GenXYZ, it’s official. We hit the MILLIONTH* .xyz domain mark! As a team, we had to do something big to celebrate this milestone. And what better way to go really BIG, than jumping out of a plane that’s soaring 13,000 feet above the ground?
We know that 1 million is a massive number, but it’s actually pretty difficult to know exactly how big. To help us visualize the magnitude of 1 million, we found this nifty site, aptly titled “A million dots on one page”. All we can say is…wow.
We know, we know, we haven’t revealed what that magic .xyz registration was. Any guesses, #GenXYZ? The official domain name that helped us reach 1 million was (of course, with the help of the 999,999 .xyz domains that came before):
Is that a typo for Google? Nope. It’s the last name of the proud of owner of this domain name. Have you locked down your LastName.xyz yet? It just might be still available (and you can make sure by searching for it at www.gen.xyz).

The theatre and performing arts have been a beloved tradition for over 10,000 years – who doesn’t like to be entertained?! And think about all the show venues and movie theatres in your own town or big cities. Theatres are everywhere.
Aside from being the traditional way of spelling out the word, a large portion of performance venues and movies theatres in the United States also spell it the British way with an -re. Hollywood Pantages Theatre, Lyceum Theatre, AMC Theatre, and even US-based schools with theatre departments will spell it out with an -re.
We challenge you to a “theatre” vs. “theater” word hunt through the US. Which is more prevalent? Our bet is on the Brits.

It’s .Protection! And you guessed right. On top of our big .Security announcement yesterday, we’re adding on its close sibling, .Protection to the XYZ roster.
This formidable duo will now jointly offer security-related entities flexible naming options to represent their business and get found by their customers. .Protection and .Security cover the bases for security-related individuals and businesses.
Because the words are so closely related, many security companies incorporate “protection” in their names and taglines.
