ArtsandLetters.xyz
ArtsandLetters.xyz is an independent creative agency based in Richmond, Virginia and founded by former creative director Charles Hodges. Charles previously worked for Google Creative Lab, an internal creative studio tasked with generating interesting, emotionally satisfying, and daring marketing campaigns. Charles continued fostering this relationship across a range of projects, and ArtsandLetters.xyz launched in 2017 with Google as its first client. They work primarily with other tech-focused national brands such as ESPN and MSNBC, and recently welcomed online wedding registry Zola as a new client. The prestigious agency has received accolades such as Adweek’s “Top 10 Fastest Growing Medium Agencies”1 and honorable mention in Outside’s “50 Best Places to Work in 2021.”2 In January, the agency welcomed Polaroid’s former Global Creative Director Ignasi Tudela as their new Creative Director.3

The creative agency has produced some incredibly popular and widely viewed media campaigns. Most notably, ArtsandLetters.xyz is responsible for Google Assistant’s Home Alone Again campaign of 2018, featuring a grown up Macaulay Culkin reprising his iconic role from the Home Alone film franchise. The agency reports that within its first 24 hours, the 60-second commercial received over 36 million views and became the number one trending video on YouTube. In January of 2022, the agency released a campaign for ESPN titled “There’s No Place Like Sports,” which shows some of the most exciting moments in sports from the past year and asks “Where else does the story get better every year?” The spot has already scored over 1.2M views in its first month. In time for the June 2021 Pride season, ArtsandLetters.xyz developed a Google Pixel campaign titled “Showing up for Pride.” The campaign showcases LGBTQ+ spaces on the road to recovery from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and highlights the community’s efforts to continue showing up when it matters the most. The campaign, which features a collection of images of closed businesses, followed by snapshots depicting the ongoing strength of the LGBTQ+ community, has reached over 1.5M views.
