Happy New Year! As we move into the next chapter of .xyz, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the achievements of 2025—a year that built on more than a decade of growth and innovation. The continued evolution of .xyz has been shaped by a global community of builders, creators, and partners whose ideas and work continue to expand how the namespace is used.
In 2025, projects using .xyz and XYZ Registry domains continued to reflect how emerging technologies are converging across AI, decentralized infrastructure, and interactive experiences. From decentralized governance models developed by O.xyz, to blockchain and AI infrastructure projects such as Succinct.xyz and OpenLedger.xyz, and gaming studios including M10.xyz, AllianceGames.xyz, and HyveLabs.xyz, .xyz remained home to teams developing a range of technical and organizational approaches.
Across the artificial intelligence space, .xyz continued to attract teams experimenting with new models and infrastructure. “AI” remained a top keyword in new .xyz registrations throughout the year, as reflected in our monthly XYZ Registry Domains Reports. In this area, O.xyz developed what it describes as a Decentralized AI Managed Organization (DeAIO), structured around a proposed sovereign AI system designed to operate independently of centralized control. The project outlined a distributed compute model spanning terrestrial, orbital, and maritime nodes, alongside an AI agent intended to coordinate activity across the network. In January 2025, O.xyz raised $130M to support development of its decentralized AI governance model and infrastructure1. AI-related exploration also extended into decentralized finance. Mav.xyz, the online home of Maverick Protocol, continued building DeFi infrastructure designed to support more efficient liquidity provisioning. With the introduction of Programmable Pools in Maverick v2, the protocol outlined how AI-driven logic could be used to dynamically adjust liquidity strategies based on real-time data.
Within web3 infrastructure, Succinct.xyz advanced its work on zero-knowledge tooling through SP1, a general-purpose zkVM designed to support applications such as rollups and coprocessors. Gaming studio M10.xyz, led by Forbes-featured CEO Maitham Mohamed, announced plans to build competitive multiplayer titles exploring new approaches to player-driven economies, backed by a globally distributed team with experience across major game franchises. TetrisEffect.Game showcased how audiovisual design and optional VR support can reimagine a classic game for modern platforms, earning recognition across gameplay, music, and virtual reality categories.

Alongside established firms such as Dragonfly.xyz and Paradigm.xyz, a growing group of investment firms across blockchain, AI, and emerging technology operate on .xyz.
