bytesized.xyz

Bytesized.xyz seeks to bring a more inclusive approach to developer education online through free informational blog posts, tutorials, and even IRL conferences. The service was founded in 2017 by an experienced dev known in coding circles as @signalnerve (or simply Kristian) who first began sharing his knowledge on coding via his YouTube channel in 2013.

Kristian has since grown his Bytesized.xyz coder education network to include thousands of followers on YouTube and Twitter. 2018 marked the first-ever Byteconf event, a free developer conference series organized under the Bytesized.xyz banner. The event debuted on Twitch to an audience of nearly a thousand viewers worldwide. Byteconf events are now held both in-person and online, and are free for all to attend. Participants simply require a device and an internet connection to take part.

Following the success of Byteconf, Kristian grew the offerings on Bytesized.xyz to include guest posts from other respected coders. Bytesized.xyz’s blog post topics range from programming tool recommendations and reviews to guides for getting started in new languages and even career advice for young devs looking to make their way in the competitive coding industry.

The site also features a weekly newsletter, which covers software development news along with information on upcoming Byteconf events. You can also enter the Bytesized.xyz monthly giveaway, which offers free web dev courses and software to Bytesized.xyz fans and members of the developer community. This month, Bytesized.xyz is giving away a course valued at $180 completely free to one lucky Bytesized.xyz fan.

Whether you are an experienced developer looking to round out your skillset or a relatively new dev looking to bolster your abilities, the Bytesized.xyz community is set up with the aim to help you reach your coding goals. If you’re interested in attending a Byteconf event or would like to get regular news on Bytesized.xyz, be sure to subscribe to their newsletter to stay in the loop.

Once you’ve honed your coding skills with tutorials and advice from Bytesized.xyz and you’re ready to launch your own special project online, follow Kristian’s lead and do it with your own .xyz domain!

Aviation technology has come a long way since the Wright Brothers first took humans into the sky in 1903. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and drones have expanded far beyond their military beginnings and have become one of the hottest pieces of tech for consumers. With more remote-piloted vehicles taking flight comes a need to have a system that can manage all the added air traffic. Our #WebsiteWednesday this week, OneSky.xyz, has built software they believe is the solution to keeping that air traffic safe and organized.

OneSky.xyz

OneSky.xyz is a software solutions company that builds enterprise-ready technology designed to help improve the commercial unmanned-flight industry. OneSky.xyz’s software works to cover everything from ground mapping to GPS analytics to even full flight planning, all with the aim to make drones and UAVs fly farther, faster, and safer. As more UAVs and drones make their way into the air, the risk of them interfering with existing air traffic like planes and helicopters increases.

It’s scary to imagine a drone interfering with a plane’s takeoff or a UAV accidentally crashing through a skyscraper window, but with OneSky.xyz’s system these remote piloted vehicles would follow organized flight patterns and talk with each other to help avoid accidents in the air. OneSky.xyz cites its 30-year heritage in systems modeling, simulation, and analysis technology as the backbone of its products, showing they have been working to solve this puzzle since long before drones started making their way onto children’s birthday wish lists.

OneSky.xyz’s UTM framework is already turning heads, as it was used by Singapore’s Air Traffic Management Research Institute and Civil Aviation Authority to demonstrate how UAVs could navigate the country’s skies safely despite its dense urban environment. Customers of OneSky.xyz are able to find detailed descriptions of each product’s purpose and capabilities on the site’s Products page. It also includes images and videos of the software products in action, so customers can get a better idea of what to expect before their purchase.

If you decide to purchase either of OneSky.xyz’s drone analytics apps, you can find helpful guides on what each app is designed to do, the tech they contain, and how they can be used right on their website. For developers hoping to use OneSky.xyz’s analytics software in their own apps, the company has built an API and provides documentation on how to use it.

As the old saying goes, “convenience is king,” and OneSky.xyz lives out this mantra by harnessing the power of their website to make their products convenient for customers to access anywhere. One of the main ways OneSky.xyz does this is by allowing their products to be accessed via a login portal on OneSky.xyz. This gives users the freedom to use OneSky.xyz’s services via the OneSky.xyz app or from any computer with internet via web browser.

Members of the #XYZCommunity like OneSky.xyz are a great example of the many new and emerging technologies being introduced to the public on .xyz domains. OneSky.xyz is working to pave a prosperous future for UTM. With their perfectly branded .xyz domain, they can reach a worldwide audience and make a global impact with their products.

If you want to see more of what OneSky.xyz’s technology can do, be sure to follow them on Twitter @OneSkyTweets or watch it in action on their Vimeo page.

It’s that time of year when many are seeking to improve their health and drop the pesky pounds gained during the holiday season. There are many popular diets that can help dieters reach their goals, but getting the hang of them can be tricky. This week’s #WebsiteWednesday is aiming to make one of today’s most popular diets a little easier with KetoChow.xyz.

KetoChow.xyz

KetoChow.xyz is a Utah-based company that makes meal replacement shakes designed for those on the ketogenic diet. Commonly referred to as “keto,” the ketogenic diet involves restricting your diet to high fat, moderate protein, and very low carbohydrates in order to switch your body into a fat-burning mode. The diet can be highly effective but daunting for beginners. The KetoChow.xyz drink mix is meant to include all of the protein, electrolytes, carbohydrates, and vitamins that are required for maintaining the diet successfully.

KetoChow.xyz founder Chris Bair has been a fan of the keto diet since he successfully lost nearly 60 pounds by doing it in 2014. It was at that time that he tried a few different meal replacement shakes, but ultimately preferred to make his own based on a recipe he found that combined protein powder, vitamins, and electrolytes with heavy cream and water. After sharing his recipe online, he started selling the mix to fellow keto-lovers who prefer a ready-made solution. As KetoChow.xyz grew in popularity, Chris’s wife, family, friends, and neighbors have started to help by shipping orders and fulfilling customer service duties.

You can shop from 15 different flavors of the drink mix on KetoChow.xyz, with delicious-sounding flavors like chocolate peanut butter, raspberry cheesecake, and salted caramel. To make a single meal, customers can follow the measurement of Keto Chow mix, water, and heavy whipping cream or avocado oil on their preparation guide. For those who prefer a warmer meal, KetoChow.xyz also has a line of Savory Soup mix. The flavors include creamy tomato and savory chicken, and are meant to be blended with warm water and your fat source of choice.

Here at XYZ, we believe in helping entrepreneurs establish themselves online and turn their passions into companies. That’s the reason we brought affordability and freedom of choice back to those looking for great domain and business names with .xyz. We’re proud to give entrepreneurs like Chris the ability to share their ideas and initiatives with the world on the domain name they want.

If you read our latest XYZ Quarterly, you know how useful expanding can be to your business or project’s success. One common way companies can expand their business is by creating new initiatives that help to reach their goals in a new way. This week’s #WebsiteWednesday is a perfect example of an organization that is aptly using a .xyz domain to do just that.

Afritech.xyz

Started by influential UK-based social enterprise Do it Now Now, Afritech.xyz is a new program designed to connect early-stage tech startups in Africa to mentors and investors worldwide. The vision behind Afritech.xyz is to build a better future for Africa by helping to ensure that African entrepreneurs have the skills and tools necessary to build and develop their communities.

Do it Now Now and Afritech.xyz were founded by award-winning entrepreneur Bayo Adelaja. Bayo was recognized by Durham, Harvard, and Oxford University’s Business Schools for her work to create and foster opportunities for under-served communities through technology, and was named one of 2019’s most influential people of color in tech by The Financial Times. Bayo and her team created Afritech.xyz in order to solve the lack of accessibility Africans have to the rest of the world’s tech and investment ecosystems. By utilizing the expertise and networks of professionals in the UK and worldwide, Bayo and her team found a way to actively contribute to the development of tech enterprises in Africa.

In order to participate in Afritech.xyz, startups must meet certain criteria. The majority of their team must have graduated from universities in Africa, and the company needs to be based in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, or Uganda. Startups can either be in the process of raising funds for their first-version products (pre-seed) or be fully launched and in the seed funding round with £20k or less in grants. Either way, it is free to join and equity-free, thanks in part to Afritech.xyz’s partners.

In December 2019, Afritech.xyz announced its first UK-Africa virtual accelerator program, #AfriTech19. Out of the hundreds of applications, nineteen startups were selected to take part in the program and gain access to the key experts, tools, investors and legal support that are meant to help them navigate the next stages of their company’s development. The selected startups are working to solve critical problems that Africans face. Uganda-based startup Ecoplastile is working to transform waste plastics using a chemical-free plastic extrusion technology. Xpendly, hailing from Ghana, provides mobile platforms for young millennials to manage their finances with. Peersview in Nigeria is working to build a social network for students so that they can become a strong generation of African leaders.

Do it Now Now expertly expanded their organization’s impact by launching Afritech.xyz on their own domain and dedicated website. By choosing .xyz, they were able to secure the program’s brand name for the web address, making it especially easy to remember for their startups, mentors, and partners. The independent site is also able to clearly communicate all of Afritech.xyz’s program details, updates, and other valuable information to their audience.

Learn more about African tech on the Afritech.xyz blog or by signing up for their newsletter. You can also look into becoming one of their mentors if you would like to lend your business expertise.

Today’s tech startups are bringing innovation to practically every industry, making it more important than ever for big companies to embrace technology in order to meet their customer’s needs. Yet, cultivating fresh ideas within a well-established company can be tricky. Today’s #WebsiteWednesday has found a unique way to solve this problem. If you read our recent article about digital strategy powerhouse JJDelgado.xyz, you may remember that he sits on the board of a collaborative entrepreneurship program founded by his employer Hijos de Rivera: TheHop.xyz.
TheHop.xyz

TheHop.xyz is a new program that aims to promote innovation at 114-year-old Spanish brewery and beverage company Hijos de Rivera. TheHop.xyz gives six selected tech startups the opportunity to incorporate new tools and business models to Estrella Galicia (its popular premium beer). The selected startups get three months to develop a pilot project at their Madrid workspace, complete with training and mentoring by the company’s top executives, investors, and experts. Upon the completion of their pilot projects, the startups get the experience of implementing their ideas at a major brand. Depending on how they perform, the projects could turn into a lasting relationship.

During TheHop.xyz’s 2019 program, startups created projects meant to improve upon Estrella Galicia at various stages. Some focused on improving the beer’s production – Internet of Things startup Data Monitoring created Data Beer, an app designed to monitor the temperature, pressure, and quantity of beers in barrels. Others were focused on Estrella Galicia’s transportation and the employees that handle distribution. Social impact startup Trucksters created a relay technology that allows Estrella Galicia trucks to cover great distances without the driver moving too many kilometers away from home. Lastly, our personal favorites were focused on improving the consumption of the beer itself. Same-day delivery startup Supertech created BeerNow, a solution that allows for home delivery of cold beer in just 15 minutes.

We love to see a program like TheHop.xyz supporting the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs. It’s been our mission to help new internet users establish themselves online since we launched .xyz in 2014, and programs like TheHop.xyz help to perpetuate that goal.

Head to TheHop.xyz to see how you can apply for their next program. You can also follow along on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with @somosthehop.
