As we move into the latter half of 2024, following the success of our recent milestone 10th anniversary celebration, XYZ approaches the second quarter of 2024 with incredible enthusiasm. In addition to celebrating our 10th anniversary, June marked a significant milestone as we surpassed 500,000 domain registrations for the month! We continued to spotlight innovative and forward-thinking members of the .xyz community, including those fostering creativity within the expanding gaming sector. Furthermore, our monthly Domains Report series continues to highlight industry trends, insightful statistics, and noteworthy investments in ventures innovating on .xyz and XYZ Registry domains. Here’s a summary of the key milestones from Q2.
This June we had the good fortune to celebrate the monumental 10th anniversary of .xyz’s launch! Since its inception, .xyz has transformed the digital landscape by offering dynamic domain options that empower the next generation of internet users. XYZ Registry manages over 5 million domains and .xyz represents approximately over 1% of all domains in existence, ranking among the top three new generic top-level domain registries.
In June, we registered nearly half a million .xyz domains, marking our best single month since 2016! Our mission to provide innovative domain names has resonated globally, attracting tech startups, Fortune 500 firms, creatives, educators, small businesses, and community organizations alike.
Our registrar partners, including GoDaddy, Namecheap, Porkbun, Name.com, Onamae, and Dynadot, and more, have played a crucial role in reaching significant milestones. During our 10th anniversary month, our partner Porkbun reached their own milestone of managing over 2 million domains, with the XYZ Registry behind 10% of those domains!
During our anniversary, we received widespread support from partners like Openprovider, DreamHost, and Dynadot, who demonstrated their commitment through blog posts, newsletters, and social media campaigns. Onamae also dedicated their homepage to .xyz during our celebrations!
Throughout the campaign, our gen.xyz/birthday page showcased our journey. Additionally, our 10th Anniversary press releases and .xyz Case Studies featured impactful registrants from Fortune 500 companies to web3 pioneers and AI innovators across various sectors.
